So what are your thoughts/hopes for the series which is to begin filming in 2014?

What exciting news! I didn’t believe this beloved series novels would find its way to the small due to prohibitive production costs.

Who is the lucky devil to play the Eternal Mercenary? Will the series follow Casca’s life chronologically or will it jump from one time period to the next?

Looking forward to seeing a few production stills.

I’m trying to get one of the people behind the series to either reply on the forum or via myself. Hopefully I’ll get him to give a few tidbits of info.

Will they use the old Sadler and/or Roberts published stories as the basis for storylines and scripts, or will they pen entirely new stories?

And how will this affect the precious Timeline? Will there have to be a new Timeline, one for printed books, the other for TV / movies?

Ok folks – the news release was not by the TV people and I’ve been advised its a premature piece of info. The dates are not definite so I’ve to tell you all the date previously advised is not definite. Once things are known it’ll be released.

Ha ha yes but I was told categorically by one of the TV guys the news was a little premature. It may be not be as early as first announced but its coming, guys.

Any TV people putting a Casca series together won’t give a rat’s rear end about any written time line. The stupid Star Trek movies ignored the realities of the TV series and the TV people will do the same to the authorships of Casca.
This might might make some people unhappy, but personally I couldn’t care less if it gets Casca out to the larger public.
P.S.

Welcome Back James!

I hope this is good news, meaning, I hope that they do it right.

And in order to do it right, it should obviously be an adult series. And to do this, it should probably be on cable here in the States, like the Spartacus series.

I’d like to see them keep it in the spirit of the books, and not have Casca saving the world from one powerful villain or another, but just a wandering mercenary soldier of the world.

I would imagine that the tv series would have the stories in different time periods each time. Else, we’d be spending years just with the sword periods, and not have a chance to go back and do another story in a past time period.

This would be a very unique historical adventure series from different locales and time periods around the world.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing it done true to form.

The Jesus thing is going to always be a problem with the TV people. It doesn’t matter if you are a bible thumper who likes seeing Jesus in the spot light, or if you’re just a Casca traditionalist. Either way, you got a problem selling The Prince Of Peace to the big media folks. I think we’ll be re-hashing this point for as long as we have to struggle to grow the fan base.

WOW! Finally a TV show that will rival Rome and Game of Thrones! If done close to the book stories (like Game of Thrones) this could be a giant block buster! Keep to the stories and it will be great!

TONY,
Hopefully you will be involved in some of the story line if there is to be a TV series. A mini-series starting with the original story would be a good start to see if the fan base is big enough to continue the series. Written close to the story lines in the Casca series they could have a very successful series. Best wishes to whoever if involved! It should be interesting!

Just to bring you all up to date with the TV stuff, I’m in no way connected with it – its a separate contract to the one the owner has with me.

Tony,
If you want to success in an adventure you use the best assets. Hope you get in on some consulting for this project, with pay! It would not hurt to contact with people involved and see if they have any interest in your insights. You have brought the Casca series back to life! Long life to the Casca series! Don’t have to worry about Casca!
