waterloo was a near run thing for wellington. I’ve read several books, both fiction and non-fiction about the battle and I see where casca was located in the battle, so I think it is pretty accurately done. good novel. I will like to see some more adventures in Africa, maybe with gus again. whatever happened to casca’s friend from Vietnam, Van?, I know that Gus and George died in Africa on the same mission (African mercenary),
just wondered whatever happened to van.

I was pretty careful with the battles, making sure Casca was in the right place with his unit. Bumped into a guy a few weeks ago who was in the 28th Gloucestershires and he was really excited about reading the novel.

As for Van, I really don’t know what happened to him. Presumably he had to be left behind in Vietnam.
