I highly recommend this exciting historical adventure book of some of the important medieval European battles.
Because of a vendetta, Casca sides with the Moors in the conquest of Visigothic Spain. And has an important hand in the deciding battle. Later, he escapes Spain into France and sides with the French in the important battle to prevent the Moors from conquering France. Again, his advice saves the day, for France this time. This tale is made even more interesting because Casca takes a large part in the winning sides of these two important battles. These battles and other fighting scenes are very excitingly and descriptively written, at the strategic high-level and at the up-close personal one-on-one fighting . The characters involved are ones you can cheer for or dislike, depending on their character. And also hope and wonder if the good will survive and the bad won’t.
Since there’s a hole around 1492 in Casca’s timeline on the web site, maybe he will be back in Spain in 1492 siding with the Spanish when the last of the Moors are finally removed from Spain. That would give a nice circular conclusion to Casca helping the Moors into Spain and finally helping remove the Moors from Spain.
