Tony, could you tell us what these 2 new 2016 books will be about, especially #45 Emperor’s Mercenary? Could that be about Emperor Charlemagne, the first Holy Roman Emperor of western Europe since the Romans?

Hi Andy, nice to hear from you. Casca 44 Balkan Mercenary is going to be set in 1991 or 1992 during the Croatian-Serbian war in Eastern Slavonia. Casca is hired to rid the world of a particularly nasty warlord leading a group of Serbian irregulars intent on ethnic cleansing. Its a straightforward mission. Casca and a small group of mercs are sent in under covert UN approval to take him out.

Casca 45 Emperor’s Mercenary is the follow-up to Casca 37 Roman Mercenary. Casca and Flavius enter a war-torn Italy and seek to join Honorious’ legions again but during the visit to Ravenna they get hired instead by one of his court officials to undertake a delicate mission that could have ramifications long into the future.

Tony,

Do you expect to have Casca in Scotland with William Wallace anytime soon in any of the books? Or, perhaps fighting with the Celts (Boudicca or Vercingeterix) or in the 9th legion against them?

Thanks

Hi Isle of Lewis. The William Wallace one may well appear in 2017. I do have research material for that.

As to Boudicca, I’m afraid that timeline cannot be done as Casca was (as detailed in Casca 1) a gladiator in Rome at that time during the reign of Nero.

As for Vercingetorix, he was active before Casca was born so I’m afraid he won’t appear in any Casca book either.

Thanks for your suggestions – keep them coming in!

Just a quick note- adore the books, hate the shipping from England to Seattle, Washington State, USA so I’m going to hold off and order all 3 books at a time. Keep up the good work.

The wife still claims these books are not my biography,,,,

Trailtrader – I wholeheartedly agree. This is the result of privatisation. If the Royal Mail was still public owned then the costs would be much lower. God bless private ownership.
